Résumé :
|
Integrating intelligent textiles into clothing is an exciting new field which opens up a vast arena of applications. With revolutionary advancements occurring at an unprecedented rate in science and electronics, the possibilities offered by wearable technologies are tremendous. As the technologies become more refined allowing complex systems to be embedded unobtrusively in everyday clothing, they will soon be more and more commonplace in commercial products.
Part one of this book is dedicated to phase change materials (PCM), part two explores the emerging field of shape memory materials (SMM) in some detail, and the third section deals with chromic materials (color change) and conductive materials. The final section looks at current and potential applications. All of the chapters draw on knowledge from a number of disciplines, including electronics, textiles, telecommunications, biotechnology, and medicine and represent an outstanding panel of international experts.
